MLS All-Star Team Football Vs Arsenal FC
Arsenal FC takes on Major League Soccer All-Star Team Football for their annual midsummer friendly. Led by Mikel Arteta and boasting world-class talent across every position, Arsenal pose a formidable opponent that MLS All-Star Team Football must overcome to claim victory.
Fans of Major League Soccer (MLS) will be eager to get a glimpse of Declan Rice and new USMNT recruit Folarin Balogun as the Premier League Showcase kicks off tonight.
1. Bukayo Saka
Bukayo Saka was an effective attacking outlet for Arsenal in this match, creating opportunities for Gabriel Jesus, Leandro Trossard, Eddie Nketiah and Jorginho through dribbling and passing.
Saka is an academy product who began his professional career at left back before making the switch to winger. Additionally, he has represented England at various youth levels.
He was selected by fans, Major League Soccer head coach Wayne Rooney and commissioner Don Garber to represent Major League Soccer against a club team from European Premier League in Wednesday night’s All-Star Game at Audi Field in Washington DC, broadcast live via Apple TV and Season Pass subscription services – giving MLS more eyes than ever on their game!
2. Leandro Trossard
Arsenal steamrolled to an impressive 5-0 victory against Major League Soccer All-Star Team in their second preseason matchup of 2023, thanks to Gabriel Jesus scoring after only five minutes and Leandro Trossard and Kai Havertz adding goals – making sure that Arsenal looked every part the team who finished runners-up in Premier League last season. New signings Declan Rice, Jurrien Timber and US national team star Folarin Balogun all played for Arsenal as well.
Jakob Glesnes of MLS All-Stars was one of many players cautioned during the first half. Philadelphia Union midfielder Jose Martinez also earned himself a yellow card after hacking down Bukayo Saka, who scored an outstanding goal after 23 minutes thanks to Trossard’s hard work down the right flank.
3. Gabriel Jesus
Gabriel Jesus showed that Arsenal has all the makings of Premier League title contender with their comprehensive victory against Major League Soccer All-Stars in the Champions League. Gabriel has proven a potency threat all year and excelled particularly well against defensive opposition during the competition.
His hard work was recognized with selection in the starting lineup for Wednesday’s All-Star Game at Audi Field in Washington D.C. He will likely pose difficulty for many All-Stars who may attempt to overcome his experience at Audi Field.
CAM Riqui Puig of the LA Galaxy.
4. Denis Bouanga
MLS boasts a wealth of talent across its roster, from clinical attackers and skilled midfielders to hard-tackling defenders and excellent goalkeepers – something Arsenal will get a chance to witness first-hand when the Gunners play this year’s All-Star Game in Washington DC.
This year’s match will mark the return of Major League Soccer All-Stars playing European club teams since 2021-2022 and promises to be more intriguing than any before, given Arsenal’s second place finish in the Premier League last season. Mikel Arteta could hand Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber their Arsenal debuts while new US men’s national team player Folarin Balogun could come off his bench as a substitute. Wayne Rooney could also call upon some other players such as D.C United’s Christian Benteke and Atlanta United’s Giorgos Giakoumakis from his bench.
5. Cristian Espinoza
Wayne Rooney will select an All-Star team featuring two Nashville SC players on Wayne Rooney’s All-Star squad coached by Wayne Rooney. Center back Walker Zimmerman and midfielder Hany Mukhtar were both chosen by fans as part of this exciting roster, joining Philadelphia Union defender Jakob Glesnes and Chicago Fire forward Kei Kamara from Philly Union and Chicago Fire respectively.
Tyler Miller will be in goal for Arsenal; Roman Burki from St Louis City SC may also make an appearance. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta hopes to give Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber their debut appearances with North London powerhouses while training abroad in Germany.
